This is something that it going to offend some people but it's also one of those things that you have to take a stand on. It's not about 'rights' (although isn't it funny how eveyone talks about the rights of the mother but ignores the rights of the child?): it's about what is right and what is wrong - morality. Obama has been portrayed as a 'good church-going guy' down here - I was shocked to read your blog and the article in 'The Washington Times'. How can anyone read what happens to these innocent children and not be affected? Not be repulsed? It's murder and I believe that no situation whatsoever justifies such a practice.

I had friends that used to speak out quite strongly against abortion. She fell pregnant with their third child and was advised to abort it because of supposedly health defects in the child. Despite warnings of dire consequences she gave birth to that child (a little girl) and apart from missing one arm that child is perfect. In fact, she has an incredible brain for someone whom the doctors predicted would have little or no functioning brain!

Sadly, even some Christians think that abortion is justified if the parents can't care for the child, don't want it, or there are health problems.Juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08923641039706647805noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4307948690637632633.post-23501263498701071982008-06-06T09:36:00.000-07:002008-06-06T09:36:00.000-07:00Thanks so much for your comments Jules. I wouldn't have wanted to change what I wrote though, because I want people to know the truth. It is so sad that many people don't see a child in the womb as a living being, a person. They can feel pain, and have a beating heart at 5 weeks of age. I hope and pray that one day people in this country and around the world will see that a baby is a baby at conception, not just after birth. Anyways, thanks Jules!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12676934511271640399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4307948690637632633.post-86771613870592117822008-06-05T23:20:00.000-07:002008-06-05T23:20:00.000-07:00Oh Jen, a very moving post. I don't know whether to cry or scream that a country such as America that at one time was such a strong Christian nation has citizens that condone such practices.

I read just the other day that there is now evidence that babies can feel from very early days in the womb and that this 'may' have implications for abortion. Duh! The fact that babies are human from the moment of conception should have implications for abortion.

Like you I rejoice that Evie's mother chose life not death for her. I wish others could do the same.Juleshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08923641039706647805noreply@blogger.com
