Long time no blog

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas! I haven't had a whole lot of time to blog because of Christmas. We had a wonderful time with family. Jeff is off for 2 whole weeks, and I am loving having him home! The weather here is SO weird right now. The week of Christmas was bitterly cold. It was only 3 degrees on the Sunday before Christmas. Brrrr! Today it is rainy and 62 degrees! Evie went outside in flip flops to play. How crazy is that?? The snow we had is very quickly melting. We have enjoyed the snow. We have gone a few times over to Jeff's parents, and Jeff hooked a sled to the tractor to pull us around :). Evie loved it. She could do it for hours. Yesterday we went over to Jeff's parents (it was still cold yesterday!), and we took Sierra with us. Sierra ran after us on the sled the whole time, so she ran for 1 1/2 hours straight! She was so wiped out that she has been sleeping all day today. It sure was fun. Super bumpy, but fun!

I'm a copycat today in my blog. Several of my online long haired friends have posted this updo in their blogs. I wanted to try it and see how it looked. So sorry for being a copycat :). I braided a scarf into my braid, and was amazed at how heavy it was. I put it in a bun, and at first it was comfortable. I wore it to church last Sunday. When I got home from church, I had to take it down because it was giving me a big headache. I put it up later, and tried to reposition it, hoping it would be less heavy. It didn't help. It lasted a few hours, and then I had to take it down. My hair is past tailbone now, and is starting to tangle wildly. Part of me is really want to cut it to waist length, but I am holding off for now. Here is a picture of the bun...

I'm glad you're having a great time during the holidays. The bun looks gorgeous, too bad that it is uncomfortable.

The bun looks lovely. I tried this but with a variation. My scarf was longer than my braid so I took my braid and tied it in a knot then tied the ends of the scarf together and tucked them through the braid. I ended up with a bun that hung from my head rather than sitting flat againt my head. I found this really comfortable and weightless.

Enjoy the rest of your time with Jeff home.

And that beautiful hair of yours is why I'm trying to grow mine out!!!!
Merry Christmas and Happy New year!
My hubby is off to, aren't we lucky, and we're having some great fun.
God Bless Jen.

That's so nice Jeff has two weeks off. Mike is taking today off and it's sure nice having him around. Unfortuately with his job, he sometimes has to work on Sundays.

Your bun is beautiful! I wish it was comfortable for you; that's a bummer. Your hair looks much thicker than mine and must be heavier because my bun was comfortable all day. But my hair is soooo fine. Something I don't really like!

Your fun in the snow sounded great! It's in the 60's here today - very odd for this time of the year too.

I have to admit .. I tried the same hairstyle with all the inspiration that you guys have been giving me!! It looks nice in your hair .. too bad that it was uncomfortable for you!

It sounds like you had a beautiful Christmas Jen! You are blessed with a really nice family.

Yesterday was so windy here, our fence blew down!!

SM, thank you! I hope you had a great Christmas too :). Have a Happy New Year!

Jules, I bet your hair looked beautiful. It sounds like a really cool variation to the bun. You will have to post a picture! I hope you are enjoying the Christmas season with your adorable granddaughter and family :).

Aww Kelly, you are so sweet :). Thank you! I'm so glad your hubby is off too! Isn't it fun :)?! I hope your family had a very Merry Christmas and that you all have a Happy New Year!

Hi April! Your hair looked so beautiful in that bun. I wish I could get it to work for me. Was the scarf you used really light weight? Maybe that was my problem. I hope you and Mike have a happy New Year!

Daisy, I think we were all inspired by Liliana :). I bet your hair looked lovely as well in the bun. We had crazy wind here too! Wow, it must have been really bad to have blown your fence down! I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas.
