Hair Cutting Urges

For my non-long hair readers, sorry if these long hair posts are a tad boring. If you are a woman, you will relate to this even if you don't have long hair! I'm having one of those blah hair weeks where I am really tempted to cut my hair shorter. I think I am looking at way too many hair magazines or something. This happens often in the summer because it is hot, and also because I feel this need for hipness (is that a word?) or something. I have been trying to do more with it, so that I feel better about it. I have been putting it in rollers a lot at night, and found a new way of doing it that I like. I twist my hair before putting it on these wrap, snap and go rollers I have, so it gives the hair more of a soft wave than a curl (a bit like April's bee-butt curls). The picture to the left is how it looked after I did that. Sierra just loves to be in pictures, can you tell? LOL! You can't tell by the picture, but my hair matches her super closely. Nothing like having the same hair color as your dog :). Anyways...I'm not running to the salon or grabbing my scissors. I've learned not to do that. Usually I end up seriously regretting it after I cut it, so I don't want to make that same mistake. It is tempting though.

No, no, no! Your hair is truly gorgeous. I have hair envy every time I see it. I think you have no idea just how it truly is your 'crowning glory'. I seriously wish there was some way I could trade with you! LOL.

I agree with Jules! Gimme your hair Jen! :) It is soooo beautiful. But I know how you feel; I really do. I've been watching "What No to Wear" a lot lately and have also had the urge to want to look more contemporary or "hip". And younger! Not that long hair per se makes me look older; it's the way I have to wear it now (UPDOS!) that's "aging" me. But I know I would regret cutting it shorter than waist at this point. I'm glad to know that you're not going to hack your hair off (thank goodness) - but I do understand how you're feeling.

But... come to think of it... aren't we long hair ladies really the hippest of all? :)

Thank you Jules and April! You are both so sweet. You both have amazing hair, so can we all trade :)? I think I need to stop looking at those trendy hair magazines. I get them when I go to the library. April, I used to always want to cut my hair after watching "What Not To Wear"! I honestly felt like I looked horrid after watching that show. I like the show, but it makes my self esteem take a huge notch down when I watch it. I love what you wrote about we long hair ladies being the hippest of all! You couldn't have said it any better. I love that. You can definitely say that we are not cookie cutter, and look like everyone else! How boring is that to look like everyone else??

I don't watch "What Not to Wear" anymore because I usually don't like what they do. Your hair is so gorgeous! I understand about wanting to cut in the Summer. I usually give in to the urge.

There you are Schnauzermom! I tried to read your blog, and it wasn't there anymore! Thank you for your very nice compliment. The urges to cut are going away a bit.
